Here at our homeschool, we’re following a strict curriculum. Today’s goal: Bake Grandma Evadne’s sugar cookie recipe in the shape of stars….and ice them. Recite G.K. Chesterton’s A Christmas Carol. Buns and jumpers……and other perils of being home all day……
I have a good reason for posting these pictures. I’ll tell you in a minute. First let me say that one of the major roadblocks for me when I was deciding to homeschool was what I’d like to call the denim jumper road block. Or what I call the ‘buns and jumpers’ factor. I do […] Read more…

There’s only […] Read more…

We’re following Susan Wise Bauer’s book “The Well-Trained Mind” which is a classical method for homeschooling. […] Read more…
Why we memorize…………
The following excerpt is taken from a paper by Andrew Pudewa called “Linguistic Development through Poetry Memorization”. This part of our homeschool day where we memorize poems, scripture, catechisms, etc. is one of my favorites. It simply amazes me how much kids excel at memory work. I’ve included a video of my girls […] Read more…
