Project Rebuilding:: First Floor Framing

We’ve made lightning progress this week. Some of the 2nd floor trusses were set yesterday and the rest will be set today.
I stood at my very own kitchen window and watched the waves crash into the rocks. Elea and I took a picnic lunch out to the site and ate our sammies while we dreamed of how it will all come together. I feel like it’s a child growing up so fast that I can’t even take a picture of every stage. Only, with this child, I don’t mind if he turns 21 tomorrow, unlike my own 20 year old son who should still be in first grade!
The girls and I are taking off early today to Clinton for the Antique Festival where I’m looking for {among other things}  some vintage sheets to use for tablecloths for Caiti’s Square Dance Graduation Party  and then we’re headed to Knoxville for errands and a luncheon with local bloggers. We’re meeting at Cafe 4 on Market Square from 11-1 in case you can join us. After that, my sisters and our kids are headed up to my mom’s (way up in the Clinch Mountains) for a girls’ sleepover for Mother’s Day. I must get the dog and I some quick exercise before we head out. Hope you have a Friday filled with fun adventures!

p.s.s.s.s.s. I started Caiti’s Square Dance invitation with “I’m fixin’ to graduate”. I think that’s funny but I fear that in the South that won’t seem like a joke at all. (Thank you for the idea David)

    Yes! I love seeing the flowering bush (rhododendron?) beside the mailbox just waiting for the house to catch up. How dare those children grow up so fast. I wrote about my oldest yesterday who is graduating from college. What?!

    Hope you find lots of goodies for the square dance. Wish I lived closer to meet with you girls.

    I’m fixin’ to…one of those things I keep saying along with “mash the button”, “cut off the lights”, etc.

    The other day I spyed on your design board the duvet cover from Serena and Lily that I have been eyeing for some time. It was all it took for me to pull the trigger and order it. It should be arriving today. I can not wait to see where that lamp came from…and some of the other fun things.

    You have one busy day planned but it sounds like fun. I wish I could join you all for lunch. It would be so much fun.

    I hope you have a wonderful time at your mom’s for the mother’s day sleepover. Can’t wait to hear about all the fun you girls have.

    The house is coming along so quickly. I pray it all runs smoothly and soon your family will be back home.

    It was so awesome seeing you today! Your girls are such sweet young ladies. I only wish we lived closer so I could see y’all more often. I’m so glad the house is moving right along. It looks awesome and I think your decorating ideas are very chic! You have a very happy Mother’s Day sweet friend. Although you may not realize it, you mother to all of us in so many wonderful ways!

    so exciting edie! it looks amazing already. can’t wait to see more of the process on your house!!! i am blogging our building process too, and it feels so good to know that we can come back to this space years from now and re-visit the construction. 🙂
