Heavenly Father, Creator of heaven and earth, it is out of Your love and wisdom that You gave me work to do and fitted me in body and mind to do this work. And yet my sinful will too often dreads the workday and casts about for other things to do. But You, O God, have called me to this work. Forgive me my sin. Strengthen me by Your Spirit that I may see that my place of work is a field of Your service to my family, my fellow worker, and my neighbor. Give me joy in my vocation, make me glad and grateful for the strength to serve You, through Jesus Christ. Amen.

does this have my name at the top? love this especially when I’m up at 1am with a child who can’t sleep because she can’t quit coughing…and trying to find the joy in that she can only sleep with me holding her. can’t wait to see your new diggs!
Congrats on finding a professional!
But can I just say I have really enjoyed your blog just the way it is, really.
Love the book you sent me, read it every morning, with Spurgeon, of course!

i’m printing this prayer out…can’t wait to see the new blog! loved the las tpost! hilarious!
A much needed post. Currently I have so many things I want to do and it’s hard homeschooling and getting some other fun stuff in too. Sophia’s been having night terrors for the last 5 days so sleeping alone for naps or bed time just isn’t happening. I read your blog with drooping eyelids. 🙂
Oh goody, I love bloggie makeovers!
Thank you for this prayer- it’s lovely.
Beautiful prayer, Edie. Kathi

Thanks for that. Much needed.
Thank you for this post. I really needed to read it tonight, as I contemplated returning to my previous career due to the stress of my days at home. What a lovely prayer.
