I have lots to tell you. About the most wonderful tea party. About the joy of having all the kids home. About the Studio 8 reveal. But this morning, I have girls to teach, laundry to do, bills to pay, a quilt to sew, piano lessons to start (the girls, not me), and dinner to cook. So, I’ll share a prayer with you that will help us all get this week off to a great start. Stop by later this week for all the other stuff! Happy Monday!
Heavenly Father, Creator of heaven and earth, it is out of Your love and wisdom that You gave me work to do and fitted me in body and mind to do this work. And yet my sinful will too often dreads the workday and casts about for other things to do. But You, O God, have called me to this work. Forgive me my sin. Strengthen me by Your Spirit that I may see that my vocation is a field of Your service to my family and my neighbor. Give me joy in my vocation, and make me glad and grateful for the strength to serve You; through Jesus Christ, Your beloved Son. Amen.
Amen, Edie! Thank you for the reminder. I'm doing the same types of things this morning too. Schooling, laundry, and helping my Mom.
What a great pray to start the week….thank you!
Edie, this prayer so speaks my heart and my struggle and my joy! Praying with you!
I needed that prayer, it's going to be one of those week, where getting work done will be challenging. DH has eye surgery later this week, so we're trying to do extra – so as not to loose this week completely, when things get out of sink later on.
But I'm looking forward to your post later this week & BTW your girls are beyond beautiful –
Amen! I needed that.
Hope you have a great week.
Amen. Excited to see the big reveal for Studio 8!!
AMEN!
Hope you are talking about the Washington DC tea party…I was there, and it was the most inspiring tea party I have been to-
just breathing in your prayer… awwwwwe… thank you!
lots of irons on your fire this morning… monday… monday!
cheers to a happy one!
I've had a great day today. This post is perfect, though, in reminding me of what the Lord has called me to do. It's not easy, and often I hear myself griping and complaining about homeschooling 5 children from the ages of 13 down to 7 year old twins. In the deepest part of me I absolutely love it, and yet there are times it overwhelms me. Thank you for your inspiration in more ways than one, and I can't wait to see some of the other things you have in store this week.
Blessings to you,
Carol
Edie, thank you for this prayer. I've printed it off so I can reference it often.
Amen! Shutting laptop now : )
(Love your blog.)
