I may look like I’m scared…..or about to fall. But really I’m just singing and groovin’ to ‘Hi-i-i-i-i stayin’ alive’.  Like my shirt?  I thought so.  My personal tribute to times gone by.

Taylor and Andrew took first place in the scooter race…..while  Emme and Morgan finished strong in thirteenth…..

and then of course there’s the hokey pokey….my personal favorite….

and apparently a favorite of Marcus as well.

Most of the afternoon, this is what I looked like.  Not because I kept falling, but because I skated so fast that I was a blur to everyone around me.  I’m going back next week.  I have plans to  ‘dominate’ (Taylor and Andrew’s word) all the 13 year olds in the races.

BTW, Marcus can skate. I mean really skate.  Those darn hocky players.

  1. That looks like SO MUCH FUN. I will have to take the boys. I’ve been meaning to but since I’m not very stable myself, I’m worried I’ll be no help to them. I guess we gotta do it sometime. That was one of my favorite childhood birthday party memories. You are SO right about the germs!! You rock!

  2. Dejavu! You just took me right back to being in 6th grade and LOVING to roller skate. I think it may have even been at this same rink in TN. I could even go backwards, and really thought I was something. The hokey pokey always makes me smile like a little girl! It looks like you all had a wonderful time, and I think I just may be jealous.

  3. I totally used to go every single weekend to a place called Aquarius and that brought back so many fun memories. How fun! I need to google to see if there is a place like that anywhere around here now!

  4. I can’t believe you skated holding that amazing camera! What are you crazy? You are right about the 2nd skankiest place in town- the bowling alley definitely takes the cake or grime!

  5. lol. So fun!!

My sister and I took the littles to that #1 germ infested place you mentioned- the bowling alley!- last night. Suffice it to say I did NOT dominate. snicker.

  6. That looks like so much fun! My kids aren’t skaters. I loved it when I was a kid. They do enjoy going to the bowling alley.

  7. You are so brave to take all those kids skating! You look like a totally fun and cool mom! Your kids are lucky to have you!!!

  8. I’ll be 43 next March and I still love to skate!!! My hubby can skate FAST too! But I so can do the twirl thing with my BFF in the middle! You know, where you cross over your hands and hold on to each other?? LOL! Great pictures and what FUN! xo
